Advisory Group

This group is running as a pilot until December 2009 when activity and membership will be reviewed.

PURPOSE:

1. Support and monitor the delivery groups in their development of programmes and action plans in meeting formal or statutory requirements
2. To act as a conduit between the Delivery Groups.
3. Advise the Board on external influences/matters that effect their working or priorities of the LSP Board.
4. To support and promote inclusion at all levels within the LSP
5. Review, Update and Monitor the LSP’s Communication Plan (incl. compliance with guidance such as the Duty to Involve and Engage.

HOW:

Working with delivery groups chairs to support the development of action plans with practical input and assistance

To assist and empower the delivery group chairs to make recommendations to the Board regarding overarching issues as appropriate.

Brief FOD LSP Board members on issues which effect them – providing précis documents to enable them to respond to issues such as: The Planning Together guidance:

a) Work with Delivery Group chairs to impact access the LSP action plans.                                                                                                       

b) Support Delivery/Task Groups to use the Equalities Checklist against projects                                                                                                                                                       

c) To work with the district councils corporate policy team to advise the Board on Equalities legislation

Develop mechanisms to:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            

Connect community, Parish Plans & Town outcomes/actions to FoD LSP delivery groups and outcomes                                                                                                          

Improve the communication process between FoD LSP and community through the development of a communications plan for recommendation to the Board

NB: Subject to annual elections in line with the LSP Board Chair role which is due for re-election in December 2009

FREQUENCY OF MEETINGS:

A minimum of 11 meetings annually
